One of the world’s most acclaimed fantasists, New York Times bestselling author Robin Hobb returns to the world of her popular “Tawny Man” trilogy with Dragon Haven—the second book, following Dragon Keeper (“Imaginative, literate, and compassionate from first page to last” —Booklist) in an epic adventure about the resurgence of dragons in a world that both needs and fears them/5().

Dragonhaven is the book that singlehandedly demoted Robin McKinley from an auto-buy author to a "check out her book in the library first" author for me. I've had issues with a lot of her other recent novels--some of them are quite odd, and she's developed a fondness for incomprehensible, nightmarish magical scenes--but this book was the last straw that broke my devotion/5.

But, if you love the way Robin McKinley takes boring old tropes and make them her own, you might want to pick Dragon Haven up.

The first book, is called The Dragon Keeper. The second book, Dagon Haven, is a continuation from the first book. The first few pages were about "what had gone before" for those who may not remember where things were at, luckily for me I did, but I read it anyway to bring it all clear in my mind.

This is the second series I've read by Robin Hobb/5(16). Dragons are creatures of archetypal beauty and ferocity that fill all who meet them with awe. Sintara, the blue dragon in Robin Hobb’s Dragon Haven, second in the Rain Wilds Chronicles, certainly considers herself year-old Thymara, her keeper, finds Sintara difficult, nasty-tempered and deformed, with stunted wings.
